STEVES hosted the touring production team of highly popular Indian-Canadian artist Karan Aujla ahead of his live performances at Rolling Loud India (Mumbai) and P-POP CULTURE Live in Abu Dhabi at Etihad Park, Yas Island.
The space was used for full-scale band rehearsals as the artist prepared to perform with a new stage configuration, including a custom riser layout being introduced for the first time on this tour.
Rehearsals & Technical Setup
STEVES was used as a full-scale rehearsal environment for the touring band, allowing both performers and technical crew to prepare under real show conditions ahead of live performances.
The space supported the introduction of a new stage configuration, including a custom riser layout being used for the first time on this tour. Rehearsing with the complete setup in place allowed the band to become comfortable with stage positioning, movement, and timing, while giving the technical team the opportunity to fine-tune sightlines, spacing, and transitions.
In parallel, the rehearsal period was used to validate the full technical setup. Audio, backline, and staging were configured in line with the touring rider, enabling accurate testing of performance dynamics and technical integration in a controlled environment.
Working at STEVES allowed the production team to resolve potential challenges early, align all departments, and arrive on site with confidence, clarity, and a fully rehearsed show.
Previsualisation & Programming
In parallel with physical rehearsals, the production team made use of PROTEC’s previsualisation suite to programme lighting and visual content in a controlled, production-ready environment.
The setup combined a high-performance previsualisation workstation powered by an RTX 5090, allowing smooth, real-time operation of complex stage and lighting scenes within Capture. This enabled the team to work at show scale, with accurate spatial and visual representation throughout the programming process.
The setup included:
Capture 2024 for stage and lighting visualisation
grandMA3 Full-Size for lighting programming
NDI workflow capturing live video content from Resolume directly into Capture for accurate screen representation
This workflow allowed lighting and visual content to be refined in real time, closely matching final show conditions and ensuring a seamless transition from rehearsal to live performance.
Collaboration
This project marked the first touring band rehearsal hosted at STEVES, setting the foundation for how touring productions can use the space as part of their preparation process.
STEVES support team worked in close collaboration with PROMOSA, coordinating directly with Kyle Jadon, Director of Touring, to support rehearsal planning, technical requirements, and day-to-day production needs.
This collaborative approach ensured the touring team could focus on refining the performance, while technical and logistical elements were addressed in parallel — creating a smooth and productive rehearsal environment ahead of live shows.
